The transformers are designed with a high overload capacity and are ruggedly constructed using top quality low loss oriented steel. The windings are robustly wound employing inter-layer insulation on every layer. The core and coil assembly is securely clamped by angle irons which in turn are bolted to the tank. The pentagonally shaped tank permits a very wide spread of the H.V. bushings. The apex allows ideal positioning of a central lifting eye, which greatly facilitates easy erection and fixing to the pole.

Versions are available from 11 kV upto 33 kV input and 110 V or 240 V single phase output. Three phase options are also available. Output fuses can also be accommodated in a side mounted terminal chamber. Typical rating 100 VA. Tested in accordance with BS171 (IEC 76) and BS EN 60076 part 1 & 2 1997, routine tests, and type tested for rated lightning impulse withstand voltage to BS171 part 3 1987 (IEC 76) (11 kV versions only).

For the customer with an eye on environmental issues, TEC have recently developed a compound filled version of their oil immersed pole mounted voltage transformer, built to TEC’s high quality standards, the transformers are ruggedly constructed using top quality low loss “C” cores. The windings are robustly wound employing inter layer insulation on every layer. The core and coils are dried and varnish vacuum impregnated prior to encapsulation. The encapsulation material is a flame retardant, two part epoxy resin, the system exhibits a good cosmetic finish, high electrical strength and high thermal conductivity. Low exothermic temperature rise and low shrinkage, along with its semi-flexibility when cured permits thermal expansion without stress.

TEC have been able to maintain the wide spread on the H.V. connections By encapsulating the transformer in a sheet steel tank and horizontally mounting the H.V. porcelain bushings, with a view to aiding the customer’s connections, mounting brackets to ESI 35-1 are welded to the back of the case. The L.V. terminals are via a front mounted weatherproof terminal chamber.

Tested in accordance with BS171 & BSEN 60076 routine tests.

For the customer with an eye on environmental issues, TEC have recently developed the MARK 2 compound filled version of their oil immersed pole mounted voltage transformer. The MARK 2 is built to the same exacting standards as the MARK 1, but offers the customer more power and flexibility. The MARK 2 now comes with two H.V. bushing options, the standard model is fitted with encapsulated bushings model A400, with the option to fit a silicone rubber shed. Both options give good protection against vandals and accidental damage. The MARK 2 now comes with dual output voltages and a bigger KVA rating. All this and in a smaller package too.
